RF over Fiber (RFoF)
RFoF (Radio Frequency over Fiber) products are used in wireless applications connecting base stations to distributed antenna systems (DAS) in tunnels, buildings or mines. Other wireless communication applications such as GPS in a non-line-of-sight network configuration, or marine and airborne phase array antenna systems.
Other than the advantages of an optical fiber based solution, our RFoF technology is simple to implement because:
No frequency conversion or analog to digital conversion is needed
The RF signal goes into one end of the optical fiber link and at the other end the RF signal is recovered. Almost any wireless modulation scheme is supported.
Features:
- RFoF link up to 40 GHz Bandwidth
- High dynamic range
- DFB laser source with low RIN
- High linearity receiver
- USB monitor and control interface
Applications:
- Wideband RF transmission over fiber
- RF/IF signal distribution
- Satcom microwave antenna signal distribution
- Broadband delay-line and signal processing
- Phased and interferometric array antenna

RFoF Lightwave Link
The RFoF lightwave link includes:
1. Transmitter with modulator (LTB)
2. Fiber optic cable
3. Optical amplifier for long links (EDFA)
4. Photoreceiver (PD)
We can meet the customers requirements of modulation type, 3 dB bandwidth, link loss, multiplex of signals, and temperature.
Our supplier will work with the customers to design the ideal RFoF link on architecture, RS-232 control and monitoring, and power budget.
